This zip file contains a basic Minix system that allows
you to connect via slip or ppp to an ISP. It is based in
Minix 2.0.2 and PPP/SLIP version 1.5.1.

The minimum requirements in this system is arround 1 Mbytes.
Any 16 bits system can run this code, but an XT can have problems
with memory. It is strongly recomended that you try to
use a 286 or better procesor. If you have an XT, I recomend you to
try the minimum drivers, change with 'chmem' the memory allocation,
to allow you to run a couple of utilities in memory. Chech the PPP/SLIP
documentation about low memory systems.

You may need to edit the basic configuration files for nameserver
and the scripts to login to your ISP. Check README and the ppp/slip
documentation/man pages for details.

The full ppp/slip package is included, and the binaries
needed to work with it. The compiled images have the minimum utility
so you can easily connect to an ISP.

First unzip the files in a directory, and boot from DOS with

c:\> boot ppp16

after the logon banner, type = and start using Minix.
The are no root password, to avoid confusion.

Try to boot a clean DOS system, avoid any memory manager driver.

I included the basic commands and man pages. Check the documentation.
If you have any problem, e-mail me.
